Unusually shaped fruits has been listed at Commons:Categories for discussion so that the community can discuss ways in which it should be changed. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry. If you created this category, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for discussion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it. If the category is up for deletion because it has been superseded, consider the notion that although the category may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new category. In all cases, please do not take the category discussion personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you! |

A question
[edit]Hi,
Just a quick question, why did you perform diff and diff? Wikisquack (talk) 21:27, 23 November 2025 (UTC)
- Because the former categories were the wrong ones, so I applied the right ones. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 21:41, 23 November 2025 (UTC)
- Yes I assumed so. My question was more about why are they the wrong ones? Wikisquack (talk) 21:42, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
- For the same reason we don't put random photographs of birds in Category:Photographs of birds; photographs of cats in Category:Photographs of cats; or photographs of cakes in Category:Photographs of cakes. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 22:19, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
- Ok, thank you Wikisquack (talk) 22:39, 24 November 2025 (UTC)

An apology
[edit]I apologise for inundating your talk page with deletion requests. I promise I did not intend to cause any offence. It seems that at a point last year you imported a number of photos from social media rather indiscriminately, and I discovered a number of them to be either out of scope or not in line with our copyright policies. It seems you are a very productive contributor, and your work is appreciated! I apologise for any inconvenience caused.–DMartin (talk) 00:12, 2 December 2025 (UTC)
- I don't have any issue with the quantity, and for that no apology is necessary.
- I take issue with the quality, and veracity, of several of the nominations. Good stock images have been described as "personal"; and images not from Instagram have been described as being so. Several of those tagged as "COM:PRODUCT" are below ToO, and should at a minimum have been nominated for discussion rather than speedy deletion. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 13:19, 2 December 2025 (UTC)
- All the ones I described as Instagram, even though they were imported here from Flickr, were originally posted to Instagram. I'm more than happy to have things brought to deletion requests instead of speedy, but I'm inclined to attempt speedy first to avoid clogging up the deletion queue.–DMartin (talk) 05:33, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
